Predictions are how the crowd thinks out loud.
Hunch is a free, self-hostable prediction game. We built it for communities who want to run their own friendly forecasting contest — and for players who want to test their instincts against the crowd, just for the fun of it.
What we believe
- Games should be free. No deposits, no purchases, no pay-to-win. Everyone plays with points on equal footing.
- Scoring should be transparent. Every outcome links to a public source. Queries are open and on the record.
- Operators should own their stack. Hunch is MIT-licensed PHP/Laravel — run it on a $5 droplet or a 10-node Kubernetes cluster.
- It should just be fun. Points, streaks, and leaderboards — bragging rights, not money.
How it stays free
The game is free to play. There is no money in the game — no deposits, no withdrawals, no fees, and no cash prizes. Points are purely for keeping score.
If you self-host Hunch, the source is free. We sell paid support, hosted deployments, and white-label branding to operators who want them.
Team
We're a small, distributed team — half ex-quants, half product engineers. We answered help-desk tickets ourselves last year and we still do. Tech: PHP 8.3, Laravel 11, Filament 3, Livewire 3, Tailwind v4. Postgres in prod, SQLite for the demo.
Want to talk?
